Circle Takes the Square -- Decompositions Vol 1. Chapter 1 Rites of Initiation

After a seven year spell, they've released more music! =D And if you haven't already listened to their old stuff, As the Roots Undo, you should, it's amazing crafted, and interestingly enough, the only screamo album I would suggest is best listened to at a low volume and whilst in a quiet place possibly under a tree.

Anyways, back to the new stuff, it's fantastic, the opening track is my favorite as of yet. This is supposed to be only the beginning of a larger piece of work, so I'm very excited to see what's to come. As well, they've begun to do some shows again (at least 3). Unfortunately for me, one of them is in Gainesville (for the Fest of course), so I move out, and CTTS comes back to town, figures.

shoes and icicles

I recently got this new pair of shoes, asics onitsuka tigers mexico 66, and I'm addicted to them, they're effin' awesome, and I love them to death, the way they look, the way they feel, I feel like I have little badass clouds I'm slipping my feet into each time I put them on. Not to mention they match my life's color theme of red, green, blue, and white.

I also started listening to Test Icicles again, an English dance-punk band that only had one album, but it was a good one. I like the album as a whole, but my personal favorites include All You Need Is Blood, Boa vs. Python, Circle Square Triangle, and Sharks.

JAY Z and Kanye West - Watch the Throne

JAY Z and Kanye West - Watch the Throne

Anything Kanye or JAY Z(no idea why he changed the way his name was written, i.e., all caps and no hyphen) makes will be at least decent, if not good or great. That being said I wouldn't say this is one of the strongest of either of these two hip-hop great's works, but it still falls into the "good" category. This an album that required growing on for me to enjoy as well. Though I still have to skip "Made in America", I just hate that song, the rest of the album is at least enjoyable for me to play through. My favorites thus far on the album are "Murder to Excellence", "That's My Bitch", and "Who Gon Stop Me". Overall, I don't want this to come across as me thinking it's a bad album, it isn't, like I said it falls into the "good" category, it's just I've come to expect nothing but breath-taking from such a duo (and especially after Kanye in Dark Fantasy...).

As well, I have to say I was sad at first to find out initially that it was exclusively released on iTunes on the 8th (everything else was for the 12th), while I wanted the album, I refused to pay for it on iTunes. However, lucky for me, there was a second way to get it early. If you had already purchased a ticket to the Watch the Throne concert, then you received the album early, and at 320 kbps  mp3 at that, woo.

All of that taken into account, I give this album a decent:
